This doesn't break very often but when it does you'll find the waves are very consistent and a lot of fun. The headline tends to protect it most of the time, so it tends to only work when the swell is getting very big elsewhere.
The beach is a decent size, plenty of white sand, and although it's pretty quiet most of the time as soon as the surf breaks it seems like people materialise from nowhere and the place is suddenly crowded.
Conditions are best here when the wind is coming from the north, north-west or west and the swell is coming from the south-east or the east. It works best on a rising tide, and will start at just less than 1 m and build up to around 2 m or so. It breaks to the left over a sandbar, and the waves are fast and fun but don't have a lot of power in them. You can expect to see about 150 m in terms of wave length on most days, and if you catch it on a good day it can be over 200 m and approaching 300 m.
The town here is very quiet, popular with fisherman and other types who like somewhere relaxing. It has the usual choice of accommodation, bars, restaurants etc, and you can park by the wharf right next to the beach.
You get quite a few locals out here on the odd one will happily drop in on your wave, although most are fine. Anyway, there aren't any real hazards out here.
